The Taiwanese American
Foundation's 2001 Annual Fundraiser Scheduled on December 1st
Concert and exhibition by award-winning Taiwanese aboriginal duet
"Bei Yuan San Mao" and wood sculptor Hsin-Yi Wang
San Diego, November 21, 2001: Taiwanese American Foundation of San
Diego and Taiwanese American Community Center will host an annual
fundraising event on Saturday, December 1st at the community center.
The fundraiser will begin with a reception, followed by a silent
auction, a concert by duet "Bei Yuan San Mao," a live
auction by sculptor Hsin-Yi Wang, and a banquet at Emerald Seafood
Restaurant.
"Bei Yuan San Mao" has won the "Best Duet Group
Award" at Taiwan's Golden Melody Award this year. The group
has constantly sought opportunities to promote Taiwanese aboriginal
culture by giving charitable performances.
Award winning artist Mr. Hsin-Yi Wang will have a Wood Sculpture
Exhibition from 12/01/2001 to 12/29/2001 at Taiwan Center's art
gallery. An opening ceremony will be held on the day of the fundraiser.
Mr. Wang travels frequently to promote the aboriginal tribe culture
in Taiwan; he has won a number of awards since he began to participate
in competitions in 1990.
The event will start at 4 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. Taiwanese American
Community Center is located at 7170 Convoy Court, San Diego. Emerald
Seafood Restaurant is located at 3790 Convoy Street, San Diego.
