Celebrating Taiwanese American Heritage Week in San Diego

San Diego, May 1, 2002: Taiwanese American Foundation of San Diego (TAFSD) and Taiwanese American Community Center (TACC) cordially invite you to join us next week in our celebration of the Taiwanese American Heritage Week.

The celebrating events will be held from May 11th to May 20th, to promote awareness and increase understanding of the Taiwanese culture and its diversity. Among the diverse Taiwanese culture, aboriginal tribes will be prominently presented this year.

During the month of May, TACC art gallery will be presenting an exhibition of aboriginal artifacts, photos of folk and cultural aspects of aboriginal tribes and sculptures. In addition to our exhibition, performances are scheduled from May 11th through May 20th. The week will also feature various speakers to include Mei-Chin Hsiao, a member of the Taiwanese Legislative Yuan, and T. F. Chen, a Taiwanese American artist and the winner of the United Nations' "Global Tolerance Award".

We sincerely welcome everyone to participate in the Taiwanese Heritage Week celebration. For those who would like to know more about Taiwan, this will be a great opportunity for you to experience and learn about the exceptional heritage of Taiwanese culture.
