YAM, a quarterly publication of the Taiwanese American Foundation of San Diego, features the events and activities that take place in the Taiwanese American Community Center. It also provides the information about Taiwan in terms of culture, history, tradition, music, arts etc. Yam is a starchy edible root of a tropical vine commonly grown in Taiwan. The publication is named after YAM because the native Taiwanese always refer themselves as yam.
